Product Development Engineer -Internship (M/F)

INTERNSHIP/Junior Product Development Engineer (M/F) – Lainate, Italy

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Junior Product Development Engineer will be part of the engineering team that develops connector products for the harsh environments found in transportation and industrial applications. The candidate will strongly contribute to the design, analysis, and manufacturing support activities, working in multidisciplinary project teams.

• Develop drawings and support drawings and document maintenance
• Support codification of new products in the system
• Execute feasibility studies and cost calculations
• Support product portfolio optimization projects with cost and technical analysis
• Prepare customer support technical tools: product presentations, application notes, configuration tools, update product literature as needed
• Participate in multi-functional projects to improve customer satisfaction, quality, lead time, manufacturing costs

Required

• In pursuit of or completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics
• Knowledge and strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, technical drawing
• Knowledge of CAD system (Creo preferred)
• Excellent knowledge of MS-Office package
• Hands-on, highly self-motivated/self-initiated with innovative thinking
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Italian mother tongue with very good English

Preferred

• Experience with 3D modelling, direct or parametric
• Interest in Additive Manufacturing/Rapid Prototyping technologies
• Experience applying Geometric Design and Tolerancing methods
• Understanding of creating and checking Engineering Prints and Documents
