Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Engineer to support our plants in the Czech Republic (Ostrava and Prostejov). This role is deeply embedded in our manufacturing environment and requires a strong, consistent presence on the shop floor.

You will work in close collaboration with the maintenance team and shop floor operators, spending a significant amount of time in the factory to understand daily operations, identify risks, and drive safety improvements.

In this role, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety roadmaps at both local and global levels. You will develop tools, templates, and best practices to promote a proactive safety culture, anticipate potential hazards, and advise on effective solutions. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Operations.

Essential Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the following:

  • Manage occupational health and safety
  • Monitor risks and prepare corrective actions
  • Conduct internal and external safety audits
  • Investigate workplace accidents and propose corrective actions
  • Cooperate with the company doctor
  • Check workplace ergonomics
  • Monitor and enforce established HSE processes and procedures
  • Conduct regular employee HSE training
  • Support the EMS (Environmental Management System)
  • Ensure and coordinate compliance with HSE legislation
  • Maintain PPE matrix – select appropriate PPE and monitor usage
  • Cooperate with relevant authorities (e.g., Hygiene Station, Labor Inspectorate)
  • Manage documentation – monitor legislation, prepare and update internal documents
  • Maintain data in SAP and Gensuite systems
  • Participate in internal and safety audits and related administration
  • Collaborate on all HSE activities and incident investigations
  • Creating HSE documentation
  • Support new projects
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and take corrective actions when deviations occur
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness
  • Perform duties in accordance with HSE, hygiene, and environmental regulations
  • Timely execution of tasks assigned by the supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Position Requirements

  • University degree in environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, occupational safety engineering, or an equivalent field

  • Strong experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) within the manufacturing industry
  • Experience in complex industrial company
  • Proactivity, attention to details and good communication skills
  • English skills on a professional level

 

Required Training:

  • Certified Risk Prevention Specialist (per Act No. 309/2006 Coll.)
  • Certified Fire Protection Technician (per Act No. 133/1985 Coll.)
  • English language training
  • Legislative training – new and updated legal regulations
