Position Summary

About KONI and Enidine

KONI, a global leader in shock absorber and energy absorption technology, delivers high-performance solutions across transportation, industrial, and defense sectors. With a legacy of innovation and precision engineering, KONI supports critical applications in aerospace, defense, rail, and automotive industries. Enidine, is a premier supplier of engineered mechanical shock absorbers, vibration isolation products, noise attenuation products as well as  products for motion control applications.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Applications Support Engineer to provide expert-level support for both Enidine’s and KONI’s energy absorption and shock absorber products. This role will focus on applications in aerospace, defense, and industrial markets supporting customers with product selection, integration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical or aerospace engineering background and experience with energy absorption products, systems, and technologies preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between outside customers and ITT internal sales and engineering teams.
  • Provide application engineering support for energy absorption and vibration isolation products, including wire rope isolators, HERMs, shock absorbers, rate controls, and custom dampers.
  • Analyze customer requirements and recommend products and sizing solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, as needed, that explain our products and solutions.
  • Confer with customers and customer’s engineers to assess their equipment shock and vibration needs and suggest ITT products to solve their application problems.
  • Support the design and integration of products into customer’s aerospace and defense systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, datasheets, and compliance documentation (e.g., MIL-STD, AS9100).
  • Support failure analysis and root cause investigations for returned or underperforming products as needed.
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to support product customization and continuous improvement.
  • Provide on-site or remote technical support and training to customers and partners, if required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, competitor products, and emerging technologies.
  • Document account activities, generate reports and keep records of business and application transactions with customers.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in applications engineering or technical support, preferably in aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Familiarity with energy absorption technologies, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and vibration isolation preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace and defense standards and documentation practices.
  • English fluency, German or French beneficial. 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and industry events as required.
  • Expected international travel for the role is 10-20%.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of ITT Enidine and Koni or similar product lines.
  • Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or defense contractors.
  • Familiarity with export control regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR).
