Position Summary

We are seeking a Sales Manager Railway to drive Sales of our damper products in the Railway market. The ideal candidate will leverage commercial and technical knowledge, with a focus on business development and sales activities. This is a vital function that has direct impact towards the success KONI has with Railway customers, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and Rail Operators.

 

The Sales Manager Railway will be part of the Global Sales Team (Netherlands, South-Holland) and will be working in a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative working culture.

 

What does the role involve?

KONI will give you a unique opportunity to contribute to the company ongoing transformation by working with a high Caliber and international Sales Team composed of 12 team members with 7 different nationalities.

Essential Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

  • Sales Management: Building and managing customer relationships, often visiting customers. Responsible for complete acquisition process from creating a lead up to contract signature
  • Regional responsibility: India, Sri-Lanka and Bangladesh (possible expansion to other APAC countries)
  • Customer Relations: Act as the main interface for assigned accounts, representing the company with integrity, professionalism, and technical know-how
  • Proposal Management: Prepare winning quotes including cost estimation, collaborating with other stakeholders for this purpose (Agents, Distributors, Inside Sales, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain)
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to address customer service issues, provide technical support, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Sales Reporting: Analyze and report relevant Sales results for leadership monthly
  • Travel: 70% to 80%Travel on a regular basis to visit customers in India and in the APAC region

 

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate has a business focused approach, is willing to work in a challenging environment and is always looking to improve. Key requirements are:

 

  • Experience: 10+ years of Sales Management experience in a similar international environment combined with other relevant roles
  • Experience with dampers and the railway market is a significant advantage.
  • Extensive network in the Indian Railway market (extensive network in the Railway market in the APAC region is a bonus)
  • Education: Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical) + MBA (Preferred)
  • Sales Skills: Proven success in commercial environments, with the ability to close Sales, hunt for Business Development and drive market expansion
  • Networking Skills: Easygoing and capable of engaging well with people, strong communication skills
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills to understand customer needs and industry trends
  • Location: Homebased preferably Delhi or Mumbai
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English. Other languages are a plus.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office and web applications, with a strong ability to use data tools for reporting and analysis.
  • Prioritization: Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and navigate a fast-paced environment.
