Position Summary

Develop and maintain control over standards for production operations, follow up with compliance of production processes, suggest changes in current process to achieve higher efficiency levels and determine requirements through demand.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Solve process and quality opportunities proactively to avoid impacts in the value stream and general production activities.
  • Generate and manage the bill of materials BOM’s.
  • Develop work routers/travelers.
  • Development of standardized work in manufacturing.
  • Generate action plans, guides and work methods for the assigned area and keep them updated. (i.e. Work instructions, visual aids, documents associated with engineering process)
  • Review and update the data base where production standards are located, making sure this are correctly implemented.
  • Lead engineering changes in the process.
  • Implement and manage Lay Out changes in the manufacturing process.
  • Lead, actively participate and manage product transfers as well as product/process implementation.
  • Design and implementation of work stations/manufacturing cells.
  • Design and implementation of core tools (Poka Yoke) to support and improve processes.
  • Identify and propose improvements in processes, having waste elimination in mind (MUDA).
  • Actively participate in corrective actions depending on errors/discrepancies found in the process.
  • Develop, participate and maintain cost reduction projects using Lean Manufacturing system.
  • Apply 6S in the work area, actively participate with assigned areas.
  • Prepare and present key metrics information weekly and monthly.
  • Establish machine capacity and tooling necessary for product/line/unit.
  • Identify equipment needs to maximize labor capacity and units to be produced. 
  • Identify needs of personnel, based on manufacturing requirements and equipment/machine capacity.
  • Certify multi-process/ multi-machine operators aligned with the training and manufacturing department.
  • Promote team work within the areas under its responsibility.
  • Active participate in technical opportunities with materials and suppliers during the pre-production and production phases.
  • Engineering department representative before de MRB (Material Review Board) for analyzing, reviewing and disposing of discrepant materials in the process.
  • Lead for deviation requisitions for materials design and/or process for design engineering.
  • Review production programs to identify possible delays in new orders/products.
  • Follow up on policies, procedures, rules and requirements of the company.

Position Requirements

 

EDUCATION:              Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering major.

 

EXPERIENCE:             4-6 years of experience in the manufacturing, industrial, mechanic, operations or similar areas.

                                     

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE:            Ergonomics, root cause analysis, R&R studies, ANOVAS, Chemical handling, Industrial Safety, KAIZEN, statistics, just in time, 6S´s, 3P´s. 8 Wastes in manufacturing, SMED, Poka Yoke, Kanban, Takt Time, Value Stream Mapping, QS9000, Six Sigma Process, Total Preventive Maintenance, Calibration, Microsoft Office, AUTOCAD, PRO-E, MSP, data base, general knowledge of inventory control.
