Position Summary

For our Railway business we are looking for an Application Engineer Railway.

 

In this role you are responsible to define the best technical solution for customer and lead the implementation to Start of Production (SOP). You support sales providing cost effective technical solution in order to win the target order, act as the main technical interface with customer, collect customer needs and requirement and participate with R&D to development of new dedicated products, prepare drawings, testing plan and other customer and fabrication related documents and you act as Project Manager in order to assure development milestones, engage the cross functional Team and have  a smooth handover of the project to the Operational Team with the FAI completion. Communication with the operational teams is generally cross international sites.

Essential Responsibilities

Main responsibilities / tasks:

  1. Review and comment technical specification from customers on feasibility.
  2. Upon technical specification define the best technical solution for the customer.
  3. Perform and/or initiate strength calculation (FEM)
  4. Prepare and release damper drawings, 3D models, production drawing, Fabrication Instruction (FI), Testing plan and other related instruction.
  5. Work with customer to get drawing and test plan approval.
  6. Drive the technical project progress from project start to BOM release base on project schedule.
  7. Inform and coordinate designated production plant in preparation for new product SOP.
  8. Lead technical part of dampers homologation process related to New Train projects.
  9. Verify that all the project deliverable (PPAP, Testing, drawing, FI) are in place before SOP.
  10. Increase customer intimacy and understand and discuss the needs for new products (With R&D).
  11. If needed define the product development plan with team.
  12. Take care of project management (milestones, team meetings, smooth handover to production).
  13. Involve in the production process review and give technical support in prototype production.
  14. To supply KONI differentiating value together with sales team.

Position Requirements

Your profile

You have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer or other relevant technical position.

Qualifications/ Requirements/ Characteristics:

  1. Knowledge of principles and design of Shock Absorbers (dampers) or any other relevant knowledge related to hydraulics is preferred
  2. 3D Solidworks
  3. Knowledge and/or experience in FEM calculations
  4. Good communication skills and willing to take challenges
  5. Experience in managing small scale projects is preferred
