Position Summary

The Application Engineer – Pumps is responsible for technical pump selection, proposal support, and project execution, ensuring customer requirements are met through optimal product solutions. This role supports both pre- and post-award phases and drives profitability through technical excellence and cost optimization.

Essential Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  1. Pump Selection & Technical Solutions
  • Perform pump sizing and selection based on customer specifications and operating conditions
  • Analyze flow, head, NPSH, and system curves
  • Recommend optimal configurations and materials

  1. Pre-Award Technical Support
  • Review RFQs and specifications
  • Provide technical clarifications and support proposals
  • Ensure compliance with standards (API, ISO)

  1. Post-Award Technical Clarifications
  • Manage technical queries and review purchase orders
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues

  1. Project Management & Execution
  • Manage projects from order entry to delivery
  • Monitor timelines and coordinate cross-functional teams

  1. Order Processing & Documentation
  • Process orders in ERP systems
  • Prepare drawings, datasheets, and quality documentation

  1. Margin Improvement & Cost Optimization
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities after order award
  • Optimize design, materials, and sourcing to improve margins
  • Work with supply chain and engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality

  1. Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as primary technical contact
  • Support issue resolution and maintain relationships

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3–7+ years in pump applications or rotating equipment
  • Problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines.
