Position Summary

At ITT, we are seeking an experienced Lead Analytics Engineer drive our data visualization and analytics strategies across the enterprise. As part of the Data Analytics & AI team, you will supervise a team of Analytics Engineers, work closely with Data Engineers and AI/ML Engineers, and partner with business stakeholders across the organization to deliver trusted, scalable, and impactful analytics solutions.

 

This role requires both strong technical expertise and people leadership, ensuring that reporting solutions are built using modern best practices while enabling data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

Essential Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

 

  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Analytics Engineers.
  • Have a strong understanding of business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics engineering best practices.
  • Be highly driven and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Be comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.

  • Ensure that reporting solutions and related delivery processes are scalable, repeatable, secure, and measurable across people, processes, and technology.

 

More specifically you will:

 

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day activities, priorities, and professional development of the Analytics Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate requirements into scalable analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Lead the design and development of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring a high level of user experience and functionality
  • Oversee the day-to-day responsibilities and priorities of a team of analytics engineers
  • Develop and maintain data models, calculations, and KPI definitions to support business reporting and analytics
  • Work closely with the Data Engineers and AI/ML Engineers to define data models, semantic models, and reporting requirements that support enterprise analytics, as well as integrate predictive analytics, AI insights, and advanced analytical capabilities into business reporting where appropriate.
  • Provide technical leadership on visualization strategies, helping to set standards for dashboard design, performance optimization, and storytelling
  • Ensure data quality and governance in reporting environments, establishing standards for data visualization best practices and consistency
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in the field of data visualization and data modeling, advocating for the adoption of modern techniques
  • Help spread the knowledge of data visualization to business users, fostering a data-literate culture across the organization
  • Promote self-service analytics while ensuring governance, consistency, and data quality across reporting solutions.

Position Requirements

What we are looking for:

 

  • At least 6 years of experience in analytics and data visualization, designing and delivering reporting solutions to meet business needs
  • Strong expertise in data visualization tools, particularly Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
  • Proven experience in data modeling, data preparation, and transformation to support effective reporting and visual analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop clear and actionable dashboards and reports
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and/or projects with ability to manage competing priorities and drive successful deliver of data solutions
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles as they apply to dashboard design and data storytelling
  • Experience working with cloud-based data environments, preferably Microsoft Fabric
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with DAX or similar languages for creating advanced calculations and measures in reporting tools
  • Strong experience in Python and PySpark for data analytics
  • Ability to balance business needs with technical feasibility, providing high-quality visualization solutions that drive business value
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex data in a way that is meaningful and understandable to business users
  • Passion for data-driven decision making and a strong sense of curiosity to continuously explore new opportunities for improvement

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of Python for advanced data analytics and integration with visualization platforms
  • Experience in Data Analytics or Data Science to effectively translate business needs into data-driven insights, with the ability to perform basic statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices in data visualization for large-scale environments
  • Experience in performance optimization of dashboards and large-scale reporting solutions
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics, Copilot for Power BI, or integrating AI/ML outputs into reporting solutions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or STEM
  • Master’s Degree (or higher) in Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is considered a strong plus
