ITT Goulds Pumps is seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer to manage and grow our Alberta Oilsands Territory, covering key customer sites throughout Fort McMurray, Cold Lake, Conklin, Christina Lake, and Lloydminster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding relationships with oil sands producers, mining operators, upgrader facilities, SAGD operations, and maintenance contractors. The role is focused on driving profitable growth through the sale of engineered pumping equipment, aftermarket services, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements.
This position requires a consultative selling approach, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to engage maintenance, reliability, engineering, operations, and procurement stakeholders throughout the customer organization. A significant focus will be placed on aftermarket growth, reliability programs, asset management initiatives, and identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve plant performance.
Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with annual sales and profitability objectives.
Grow sales of Goulds Pumps products, repair services, upgrades, monitoring solutions, and reliability programs within oilsands and heavy industrial accounts.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers including maintenance teams, reliability and mechanical engineers, project engineers, rotating equipment leads, procurement personnel, and operations leadership.
Identify and convert opportunities within SAGD facilities, oil sands mining operations, upgrading facilities, tailings management systems, water treatment plants, and associated infrastructure.
Conduct consultative sales calls focused on solving customer challenges related to reliability, maintenance costs, equipment performance, and asset lifecycle management.
Promote aftermarket services including rotating equipment repairs, engineered upgrades, field service support, inspections, and predictive maintenance programs.
Deliver technical presentations and product training sessions for end users, engineering groups, and maintenance teams.
Develop and maintain strategic account plans for major oil sands customers.
Maintain an accurate pipeline and quote log utilizing CRM tools.
Provide regular market intelligence regarding customer projects, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
Collaborate with service center personnel, applications engineers, product specialists, and management to develop customer solutions.
Support customer visits to ITT Pro Service facilities and coordinate resources required to secure and execute business opportunities.
Maintain a visible presence at key customer sites and industry events throughout the territory.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum 5 years of industrial sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven success in outside sales within the oil & gas, oil sands, mining, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors.
Previous experience selling rotating equipment, pumps, mechanical seals, aftermarket services, reliability solutions, or industrial equipment preferred.
Technical Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of rotating equipment.
Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, pumping systems, reliability programs, and industrial maintenance practices.
Experience working with maintenance and reliability organizations in industrial facilities.
Understanding of oilsands production processes, SAGD operations, mining operations, slurry handling, water management, and upgrading facilities is considered a strong asset.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, equipment drawings, and customer requirements.
